Round

Polished vinyl record, digital relay, stereo, amplifier.

A sanded and polished vinyl disk was played through a digital delay and amplifier to create a rhythmical, looping piece. The sound evolved slowly as the needle created its own grooves in the record and imperfections developed. Due to the cyclical nature of the record, a lulling, hypnotic, subtly phasing 'noise' was created, and the addition of a digital delay turned this into a musical round, with 2 distinct lines of sound interacting and building an increasingly complex rhythmical structure.
